Ohio Outdoor News Fishing Report – June 2, 2022
Anglers are finding crappies in every region of the state just coming off the spawning beds and hungry.

Anglers are finding crappies in every region of the state just coming off the spawning beds and hungry.

The good bite for saugeyes – the only species that is stocked here – usually runs from October to April at this 1,277-acre body of water south of Columbus.

Walleye fishing on Lake Erie is cranking up for the summer and saugeyes and crappies are setting up in their summer patterns on inland lakes.

It’s reportedly not too uncommon to see 5-pound-plus bass come out of Clear Fork.

The walleye river runs are finished for this year, but the white bass have moved in behind them on the Maumee and Sandusky rivers and other northwest Ohio tributaries of Lake Erie.

The white bass runs on the northwest Ohio rivers are following hot on the heels of the walleye runs.

Bass and saugeye are the species that most anglers are targeting.

Crappies are the name of the game on inland waters right now, and some surprise muskie catches are coming for saugeye anglers.

The walleye river runs on the Maumee and Sandusky rivers are still hanging on, with a push of some big female fish in the past few days.
