The ice has come off on all but a few extreme northeast Ohio lakes and open-water anglers are cashing in on crappies and saugeyes. Steelhead fishing also is at a fever pitch right now.

Lake Erie’s protected harbors for “harbor hoppers” was continuing to produce panfish at a good clip.

Ice fishing had a good run this winter in Ohio, but the prospects for getting on the hard water are fading fast with warm temperatures and rain.

Buckeye is one of the few places in the state that has hybrid striped bass among its offerings.

Ice fishing on inland lakes in Ohio is the best right now than it has been in a few years.

Ice fishing is going on at inland lakes across the state for crappies and saugeyes and anglers are walking onto Lake Erie from Catawba Island.

Those anglers who venture to Atwood who are not fishing for saugeyes are typically looking for bass.
