- Educating young people on matters of natural resources policy and immersing them in modern outdoors culture through Outdoor News content.
- Providing collegiate scholarships for students enrolled in North American fish and wildlife management programs.
- Providing collegiate scholarships for students enrolled in accredited journalism schools with a personal emphasis on outdoors writing.
- Providing scholarships for elementary and middle-school youth to outdoors camps and environmental learning centers
- Engaging teachers through a newspapers-in-education system and an environmental curricula explaining the past, present, and future of sound, sustainable natural resources management and its connection to ethical sport fishing and hunting.
- Providing sound educational tools and financing, well-rounded experiential opportunities, and ongoing engagement to a young generation of future sportsmen, sportswomen, and conservationists.

Any contribution over $250 is tax deductible. You will be able to use your emailed receipt as documentation of your donation.

The Foundation is a separate 501c3 nonprofit entity, but Outdoor News staff will review scholarship nominations and distribute awards appropriately.

Here’s How:
Nominating someone is easy. You can simply (and privately) provide their name and contact information, as well as the contact information for a parent or guardian. In a couple of sentences, tell us why this youth or young adult deserves consideration from the Foundation. You do not need to make a donation to nominate someone for an award. Also, as you make your donation, should you not have anyone in particular in mind, Outdoor News Foundation staff will find a worthy recipient or recipients
