Jan. 20 event a chance to engage with staff from Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Northeast Region

The Pennsylvania Game Commission’s Northeast Region recently announced it will hold a Night Out with the Game Commission from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, at the Montour Preserve Visitors Center, located at 374 Preserve Road here.
The event will provide the public the opportunity to engage directly with District 5 Commissioner Allen DiMarco and Game Commission staff about hunting and trapping topics that might include law enforcement, wildlife disease, wildlife populations, habitat work, pheasant stocking, forestry practices or upcoming education and outreach events.

Steelhead fishing going fairly strong right now on Ohio’s Lake Erie tributaries

Steelhead fishing on the Lake Erie tributaries in northeast Ohio has been good through the late fall and early winter.
But, it could be getting better. Right now, Conneaut Creek is fishing the best for steelhead, says Curt Wagner, fish management supervisor for the ODNR Division of Wildlife in northeast Ohio.

Thirty predator hunts scheduled in Pennsylvania this winter

At least 30 organized predator hunts are scheduled across Pennsylvania and hunters are eager to participate. Hunts began this month and continue through mid-March.
Thirteen hunts are planned to start in January – beginning with Endless Mountains Coon Hunters 20th annual Coyote & Fox Hunt centered in Susquehanna County.

As Courtney Homan set out on her first solo hunt in eastern Montana in search of an antelope about two years ago, there was some trepidation in her step.
However, with each yard she took farther away from civilization, the confidence in her skill set and herself continued to grow. She managed to chase an antelope for a few miles until it crossed onto private property, rendering her trip unsuccessful in one regard, but still successful as a whole.
