Changes to Michigan’s furbearer regulations discussed
Regulation changes for fishers, martens, bobcats, and gray foxes could be coming in 2028 following stakeholder discussions at the Michigan DNR’s Furbearer Forum.
DNR officials met with trappers, hound hunters, and others in St. Ignace to discuss potential changes to furbearer rules for the 2028-29 regulation cycle, with most of the focus on hunting fishers and martens with hounds, and calling and hunting bobcats at night.
