Put-In-Bay marina in Ohio to get major, $2.8 million upgrade

The Ohio DNR (ODNR) approved a Boating Infrastructure Grant (BIG) of $1,430,885.50 for the renovation of DeRivera Park B Dock, which is situated in the heart of Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island.
The transformative project aims to modernize and enhance one of the most popular destinations on Lake Erie, providing a state-of-the-art facility for boaters from Western Lake Erie and even beyond.

Winter hiking: navigating the chills with confidence

As I write this, our part of southern Illinois is under severe winter weather: sub-zero temps and dangerous windchills. It’s weather none of us should consider hiking in; it just isn’t prudent.

Ohio Sea Grant captain’s conference set for March 2

The Ohio Sea Grant program has offered its charter captain conference for the past 43 years as a way of providing updated information about Lake Erie to licensed guides to enhance the success of their businesses.
The conference will be held this year on March 2 in the Cedar Point Conference Center at Bowling Green State University’s Firelands Campus in Huron.
