West Nile Virus is in central Ohio, the Ohio Department of Health has determined.
A pool of mosquitos in Powell in Delaware County tested positive for West Nile Virus, the Delaware Public Health District announced June 23, although no human cases have been reported. Health district workers, however, were not able to fog the area with insecticide because of a festival over the weekend, according to WCMH TV.

Running at an average depth of just 8 feet, Veto Lake in southeast Ohio is quick to turn turbid and slow to clear up.
But, that’s not all bad for the angler who’s looking to catch some catfish and largemouth bass, and this Washington County lake has plenty of them.

I have been writing about the belief that wild mountain lions still exist in Pennsylvania for 45 years, and this is my latest chapter. Senior hunters in Pennsylvania may soon join their junior counterparts when it comes to antler restrictions.
A new bill (House Bill 493) introduced by state Rep. David Maloney, R-Berks, would remove antler restrictions for those hunters ages 65 and older. Currently, only junior hunters, mentored youth, disabled hunters with a permit to use a vehicle and resident active-duty military personnel are exempt from the restriction.
Damien Cook, of Rhodesdale, Md., has been recognized by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources as a new state record holder for northern snakehead – Channa argus – in the state’s Invasive Division.
Cook caught the 21.0-pound fish July 5 while fishing in a Dorchester County river. The northern snakehead is an invasive species now common throughout Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay tidal waters. The Department of Natural Resources encourages anglers to kill all snakeheads that they catch, and reminds anglers it is illegal to transport a live snakehead.
