Dillon Reservoir offers good opportunities for, in particular, saugeye and panfish. And now, don’t forget the hybrid stripers.

At 7,850 acres, this long Trumbull County lake is also one of the most productive walleye fisheries in the state. It would be safe to say that walleye is king here.

Primary sportfish species found within the pool are walleye, sauger, saugeye (in low numbers), smallmouth, largemouth, spotted, white, and hybrid striped bass. Other sportfish include crappie, channel catfish, flathead catfish, and blue catfish. West Virginia

The lake supports a wide variety of fish species but as a flood control lake it provides some additional fishing challenges.

Both reservoirs are stocked with yellow perch and channel catfish, and No. 1 gets hit every year with a slug of rainbow trout.

The large, 2,642-acre West Branch is perhaps best known for its muskie waters. In 2019, 600 muskies were caught by anglers. The largest was a nearly 50-inch fish.
