Hunter from Wisconsin takes 690-pound black bear on Minnesota’s opening day

The opening day of the black bear hunting season produced a 690-pound (live weight) bear in Minnesota for Alma, Wis., resident Dylan Fluekiger.
Hunting a friend’s property near Brook Park, Fluekiger had seen the big bruin on his cameras as he set up before the start of the season. He said the bear had been well known to area residents who had seen him for years. Looking at the photos from his trail camera, Fluekiger said the bear would typically come in at last light.
