Pennsylvania bill to make senior hunters exempt from antler restrictions

State Rep. David Maloney, R-Berks, believes there are several benefits with his plan to make senior hunters exempt from antler restrictions. 
The legislation would allow senior hunters to harvest an antlered deer with two or more points on one antler, or a spike 3 or more inches in length. Currently, junior hunters, mentored youth, disabled hunters and resident active-duty military personnel are exempt from antler restrictions.

Senate bill coming to restore Monday deer opener in Pennsylvania

Legislation to move the opening day of the statewide Pennsylvania firearms deer season back to Monday after Thanksgiving will soon be introduced in the state Senate. 
The move comes on the heels of a similar proposal introduced in the House on March 17 by state Rep. Brian Smith, R-Punxsutawney.

No fish, wildlife effects in Pennsylvania found from East Palestine train derailment

During the weeks following the derailment of a Norfolk Southern train in East Palestine, Ohio, on Feb. 3, the Pennsylvania Game Commission and state Fish and Boat Commission remained alert for environmental impacts and sick or dead fish and wildlife.

Perhaps deer drives should be limited in Pennsylvania

Some of my favorite early hunting memories were created from deer drives, and I look forward to the day when my kids can join in on a “push.”
