One of North Country deer hunting’s biggest ambassadors, Dick Johndrow, of Ticonderoga (Essex County, N.Y.), passed away May 30 at the age of 93.
Johndrow became a household name in northern New York, and beyond, in 1968 when he harvested a massive Adirondack buck, which by NYS Big Buck Club standards measured 171-4 inches and currently sits at 57th in the club’s record book under the Gun Typical category.
