Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) showed up in 44 Ohio counties in the summer of 2025, marking the most significant outbreak of the often-fatal deer disease in the state’s history.
That fact was shared recently by Clint McCoy, the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s deer program administrator. McCoy was a guest speaker on the state of deer disease in Ohio at the recent annual conference of the Outdoor Writers of Ohio (OWO) in Cambridge.
