The Burnett County fisheries team ran a quick survey on Big Sand Lake, between Siren and Spooner, in 2022 to again index the lake’s fishery.
The team did not set fyke nets for this survey, instead relying on an early spring electrofishing survey shortly after ice-out in late April. A late spring electrofishing survey was done one night in early June to assess largemouth bass and panfish populations, but walleyes were also collected.
