Michigan DNR proposal of a one-buck limit could be voted on in May

Support for a regulation that would limit the state’s deer hunters to the harvest of one antlered deer per season instead of two has varied in recent years, but the Michigan Natural Resources Commission (NRC) is prepared to make a decision on the much-debated issue next month.
The DNR’s recommendation for a “one buck rule” and a host of other deer rule changes could go up for vote at the Commission’s May 13 meeting.

Parents charged after toddler slips into wolf area and gets hurt at Pennsylvania zoo

The parents of a toddler who suffered a minor injury at a Pennsylvania theme park zoo after squeezing through a fence near a wolf enclosure and making contact with one of the animals have been charged with endangering the welfare of children, police said.
Evidence showed that the parents both walked about 25 to 30 feet away from the child to a seating area with benches and appeared to be paying attention to their cellphones when they noticed what was happening.

North Dakota warden recalls strange bear investigation that ends with a laugh

The beginning of my career as a game warden provided many stories. Good. Bad. Funny. And sometimes sad.
