Artificial intelligence is seemingly everywhere, and that includes things relative to the outdoors.
Try a Google search of anything from the latest guns or gear to perhaps a hunting or fishing destination and see what pops up. The big question is can you believe what you’re reading? Remember, this is still the internet and the long running joke about believing what you read, see or hear is also still relative.
Sawyer County’s popular Tiger Cat Chain of Lakes just east of Hayward along Hwy. 77 consists of six lakes and adjoining waters that cover more than 1,300 acres, with the Tiger Cat Flowage being the largest of them all at about 820 acres. The flowage sits on the outlet end of the chain. The other lakes are Burns, McClaine, Upper Twin, Lower Twin, and Placid.

I think it would be safe to say that most people are aware of turtles and tortoises. But at the same time, I think there is a lot of confusion surrounding these cool critters. Even those familiar with these reptiles can sometimes have questions about the differences between turtles and tortoises.
Recently while leading a photo tour to the Galapagos Islands, in Ecuador, I had a chance to show my group the difference between turtles and tortoises.
Chuck Kartak was watching an osprey nest just as a parent came in with a meal for its twins. These fish hawks are experts at snagging their prey, ending up with a fish at least once every four dives, sometimes more frequently.

A fast-spreading deer disease has hit areas of southeast Ohio hard in this late summer season, according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife.
Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) has had a particular rough impact on parts of the region, said Clint McCoy, deer biologist with the Division of Wildlife.
“So far, we’ve confirmed it in 11 counties,” McCoy said toward the end of August.
