EHD hitting deer hard in southeast Ohio

A fast-spreading deer disease has hit areas of southeast Ohio hard in this late summer season, according to the ODNR Division of Wildlife.
Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) has had a particular rough impact on parts of the region, said Clint McCoy, deer biologist with the Division of Wildlife.
“So far, we’ve confirmed it in 11 counties,” McCoy said toward the end of August.
