New York 16-year-old lives up to his name in winning trapshooting national championship

Name your kid “Napoleon” and he might just grow up to forge an empire.
Christen him “Remington?” Clearly he is destined to become a shooting champion. So it is with Remington Rupert, a 16-year-old high school junior, and son of Scott and Charity Rupert from Croghan, (Lewis County) who recently proved his mettle with a shotgun by capturing the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s 2025 Southern Grand Junior Handicap Championship at the Silver Dollar Shooting Club in Odessa, Florida.

In Wyoming, the Eastern Shoshone tribe classifies buffalo as wildlife rather than livestock

Jason Baldes drove down a dusty, sagebrush highway earlier this month, pulling 11 young buffalo in a trailer from Colorado to the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming. His blue truck has painted on the side a drawing of buffalo and a calf.
As the executive director of the Wind River Buffalo Initiative and Eastern Shoshone tribal member, Baldes has helped grow the number of buffalo on the reservation for the last decade.

Pro Fishing Tip of the Week: Dust off the cobwebs before fishing opener

I also like to check the bearings on my trailer. There’s nothing worse than having trailer trouble. I also like to go through all my rods. I mix up a little soap and water and bleach, then scrub off all the scales and grime from the rods; the bleach really makes the cork handles look like new.
