Pennsylvania bill limits home address usage by game wardens

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says it doesn’t require game wardens to use their home address on citations, special permits and other correspondence, but a state legislator said he and his colleagues have heard otherwise.
State Reps. Dave Maloney, R-Berks, and Joe Hamm, R-Lycoming and Sullivan, have introduced a bill which directs conservation officers to use a post office box or the address of their region office for the purpose of issuing citations, special permits and other agency business. The reason for the legislation, they said, is to protect officers and their families from possible retribution from offenders and others.

For local resident Jon Ebbitt, Pittsburgh city park hunt has been good experience

Jon Ebbitt, 42, spends a lot of time in Pittsburgh’s Frick Park with his wife and kids since the 644-acre green space is practically in his backyard.
As a lifelong hunter, he is keenly aware of the park’s over-density of deer, and its impact on park habitat.
“I used to think, they need to let archers in here, even for a day,” said Ebbitt, whose wish came true this fall when he earned a spot in a first-ever archery program aimed at thinning the herds in two city parks.

Longer late deer seasons set for Pennsylvania’s new CWD DMAP unit

Pennsylvania deer hunters will be able to take advantage of additional days afield within the recently created DMAP Unit 6396, which encompasses more than 140,000 acres in Dauphin, Northumberland and Schuylkill counties.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has extended the late archery and flintlock muzzleloader deer seasons within DMAP Unit 6396, and will hold an extended firearms season for antlerless deer there, as well.

H2Ohio incentive program to expand statewide

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) Director Brian Baldridge recently announced the statewide expansion of H2Ohio’s incentive program for agriculture producers.
The program, led by ODA, provides funding to producers to help offset the financial risk associated with implementing H2Ohio’s proven agricultural best management practices (BMPs) that work to improve Ohio’s water quality.

South Dakota Fishing Report – November 21, 2023 – video

The big story has been the continuation of big trophy walleyes being caught on Lake Oahe. And despite the more unsettled weather, people were still having plenty of luck pulling WNC Reapers. Other than that, eastern lakes are still producing nice walleyes for those who haven’t winterized their boat.
