Ice fishing? The current cold snap has definitely allowed for ice growth to take place – and quite fast.

Definitely feeling like the end of the open-water season is fast approaching, but this past weekend’s weather allowed many to take their boats out again. Those who went out had some decent success with perch

Those who went out were mainly fishing Lake Oahe and looking for that trophy walleye. And yes, some were successful.

A lot of focus has been on Oahe and when it will start producing trophy walleye again and it has.

South Dakota’s first pheasant-hunting season opened Oct. 30, 1919, with about 1,000 hunters harvesting about 200 birds in Spink County in one day.

Oahe should start producing some monster walleyes over the next couple of weeks and the perch will be schooling.
