The long, hot summer suddenly transformed into a short, cool fall and the Buckeye State’s fish have responded.

Well, that was a quick transition into fall. The saugeye bite on inland lakes reflects the cooler temperatures with anglers catching them in various spots.

And this 843-acre, old canal lake is loaded with bluegills, crappies, saugeyes, channel catfish and largemouth bass.

Walleye fishing continues to be good in both the Western and Central Basins.

Yellow perch fishing on Lake Erie has slowed a bit over the past two weeks, but inland crappies are coming on.

The Division of Wildlife last performed an angler creel on LaDue in 2018, which demonstrated that most anglers were seeking bass.

The annual fall yellow perch bite on Lake Erie has started a bit earlier this year.
