Excellent ice-fshing conditions existed on many lakes across the state by the end of February, and anglers were doing well.
In March, there still are plenty of locations where you can fish for walleyes, pike, and much more.

Another winter of walleye, bass, and northern pike seasons will come to a close on the state’s inland lakes on Sunday, March 7. Heading into that weekend, most reports still indicate fairly slow walleye activity.

In New York’s fish and game world, March 15 is a big day as it marks the closing of fishing seasons for walleyes, northern pike, tiger muskellunge and pickerel.
