Early summer is a time of furious activity for almost every fish species. Early spawning species like pike and walleyes are well beyond post-spawn and on their way to summer habitat. Later spawners, like muskies, bass, and panfish, are just post-spawn and in transition away from spawning areas, on the move to locations where they can feed and recover energy spent during spawn.
