The water has warmed up nicely on fisheries across the state. The result has been a solid bite in a good many of these fisheries.

Fishing reports are slowly starting to trickle in, and overall, those reports tell a story of a mixed bite for most all species.

Walleye fishing on Lake Erie continues to be off the charts, with anglers sometimes reporting limits in less than two hours of fishing.

With improved weather expected going into this weekend, many of those slow walleye bites should pick up – it’s likely that walleye fishing will be much better this weekend than it was on opening day.

Wild weather for the Minnesota Fishing Opener, but some walleyes were being taken. And bass fishing was sensational.
