Lake: Greene Sullivan State Forest
Fishing report: Mike at The Old School Trading Post Reports: The crappie bite just keeps getting better as the weather warms, take advantage of the great fishing before the spawn! Crappie jigs in bright colors and minnows are working well. Trout have been stocked in Airline and Midland Lakes and are being caught using Berkley trout dough or nightcrawlers. Seeing some pictures of some big ol hog bass being caught on a variety of baits, we encourage catch and release of these big females so they can spawn and keep the population up, smaller bass eat better anyway. Bluegill are starting to bite with the bigger ones still being caught on the bottom with worms. Cudos to the Indiana DNR and the State of Indiana for recognizing the benefits of being in the outdoors fishing, camping, hiking and mushroom hunting during these trying times. What better way to practice social distancing, get those kids out of the house and catch some fresh fish for dinner!!
AS Always Good Fishing
