The proposed legislation to make hunting and fishing a constitutional right in Ohio does not provide the protection for these time-honored traditions that backers believe they do.
I have been following the right to hunt and fish initiatives across the United States for several years. Just over two years ago, I participated in a webinar hosted by the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses. It included speakers from several states. They presented what their bills accomplished and how they managed the ballot process required to enshrine the language in their respective state constitutions.
