The Michigan DNR is seeking public comment on a proposal that would lift a more than 40-year-old prohibition on bear hunting on Bois Blanc Island in Mackinac County.
If approved by the Michigan Natural Resources Commission, the change would remove a hunting restriction that has been in place since May 1985, making Bois Blanc Island consistent with the rest of Michigan’s bear management system.
