Ohio’s deer gun hunt is on the horizon with plenty of optimism

If early deer season returns are any indication, this year’s deer gun hunt the week following Thanksgiving should go off with a bang.
Quite literally, it seems. Gun season for deer in Ohio will run from Nov. 30 through Dec. 6 with another weekend of gun hunting available Dec. 19-20. At the time of this writing on Oct. 21, Ohio’s bowhunters had already killed more than 22,000 whitetails, says Clint McCoy, the ODNR Division of Wildlife’s deer program administrator.
