Hunters help trim deer population at University of Minnesota science reserve
Hunters helped Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve last weekend with a unique opportunity to reduce the whitetail population, which has been affecting research on the property.
Cedar Creek is a University of Minnesota field station covering about 5,600 acres in East Bethel. Cailtin Potter, associate director at CCESR, said the property is used to make observations and conduct research on the natural world. Much of the research taking place on the grounds relates to plant communities.
