Owners of hunting dogs are rightfully proud of them; at least they should be. My wife, Paula, and I fit that mold, always happy to have a fellow hunter – and probably a better shot than us – tag along when we pursue pheasants.
That said, there’s always the possibility that things can unravel on any hunt, and your pride can quickly shift to embarrassment as your dog performs less than admirably.
