Every year, when the firearms deer season opens like it did last Saturday, bird-hunting participation across Minnesota plummets.
Indeed, many of the state’s waterfowl, pheasant, and ruffed grouse hunters take to their deer stands, with many, state officials say, casing their shotguns for good until next season.
Bird hunting in November and December can be some of the year’s best and most exciting – despite the onset of wintry elements.
