Bass Fishing Hall of Fame welcomes five new members, unveils venue expansion

To the three bullies on the bridge, Mark Zona has a message for you: Bass fishing is cooler than you’ll ever be.   
It has perhaps never been as cool as it was on the evening of Sept. 26 at the White River Conference Center in Springfield, Mo., as the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame welcomed the 2024 induction class of Fred Arbogast, Mike McKinnis, Skeet Reese, Alfred Williams and Zona. Zona’s poignant acceptance speech punctuated a memorable evening by telling the story of what, at the time, was the biggest bass of his life.

A rare condor hatched and raised by foster parents in captivity now gets to live wild

By all accounts, Milagra the “miracle” California condor shouldn’t be alive today.
But now at nearly 17 months old, she is one of three of the giant endangered birds who got to stretch their wings in the wild as part of a release recently near the Grand Canyon. Even after the door was opened Saturday, the birds didn’t immediately leave their pen. After 20 minutes, one condor left the pen, followed 20 minutes later by another condor.
