He’s not only been wickedly successful at hunting public-land turkeys in Wisconsin’s Jackson and Clark counties, he’s always done it with single-shot shotguns. In fact all his hunting is done with a single shot, so when he told me about the merits of a .410 for turkeys, I listened.
