Thousands more firearms dealers across the United States will have to run background checks on buyers at gun shows or other places outside brick-and-mortar stores, according to a Biden administration rule that will soon go into effect.
The rule aims to close a loophole that has allowed tens of thousands of guns to be sold every year by unlicensed dealers who do not perform background checks to ensure the potential buyer is not legally prohibited from having a firearm. Gun rights groups are expected to fight it in court.

Each of us outdoors folks has a special sign that announces “Spring!” to us like nothing else. It may be the sequential emergence of various ephemeral wildflowers, from skunk cabbages and spring beauties to trout lilies, violets, may apples and many more.
It may be the gobbling of wild tom turkeys, the appearance of morels, or an influx of avian migrants from waterfowl to songbirds. Warming weather, running steelhead, walleye and white bass and more.
For me, however, nothing says “Spring!” like the singing of hosts of American toads.

The Wisconsin DNR and Conservation Congress may soon hear calls from fishermen to either close Green Bay tributaries to fishing during the spawning run, or allow only catch-and-release fishing during that time. That’s because law-abiding anglers are sick and tired of watching a growing number of river raiders breaking bag limit, snagging, and night fishing laws with impunity as they run to their vehicles with arms full of big walleyes. Only to come back for more.
