Lake Marburg is a prime destination for a variety of species, muskies and the occasional tiger muskie chief among them.

Lots of good fishing has been happening. Here’s what is biting, and where.

Crappies and bluegills draw some attention on the lake. These are by no means trophy-caliber panfish, but there always seems to be a healthy supply of respectable, eating-size fish to catch.

The docks and accesses are no longer, well, accessible, and water temps are in the 30s. What’s that all mean for fishing across the state?

There is ice starting to develop across the northern part of the state, while the lakes throughout the rest of Minnesota remained mostly ice-free this week.

And while Round is known as a good walleye lake, the lake’s smallmouth bass may well have the best reputation right now because those beasts are attracting the most interest.

You can still get a boat in lakes across the southern half of the state.

How low water levels – and lowering water temps – are impacting the bite on fisheries across the state.

From an angling standpoint, the lake’s large size should not be intimidating. In fact, it’s a bonus, because the majority of Shetek’s watery acres seem to hold fish.
