The bite should pick up as water temperatures continue to fall.

Use all the tools at your disposal, locate new hot-spots, and above all, be on the ice.

And don’t disregard the lake’s whitefish. It’s a fishable population, rarely tapped, with good-sized fish.

While it sounds as if most anglers have already put their boats in storage, those that kept them out should have a pretty good week of walleye and muskie fishing.

If catching a Master Angler fish is on your bucket list, Manistee Lake is a good option.

Windy weather has put a damper on hunting and fishing across many areas of the state. But when the wind settles down, the action has been pretty good.

A few lake trout were showing up near shore on Lake Michigan and being caught in Michigan City Harbor by trollers and casters but not many were out fishing.
