It has been a banner week on Lake Ontario from Olcott to the Niagara Bar, with lots of full boxes and chatter about doubles and triples.

This time period is generally the heart of the back-country brook trout frenzy in the Adirondacks and also when walleye waters start to really kick into high gear.

This upcoming week, anglers who fish for walleyes, northern pike, tiger muskies and pickerel get off to an earlier start than in most years.
