“Lake Cadillac remains as one of the best and most popular fishing lakes in the northwestern Lower Peninsula with a large, diverse fish population that is relatively healthy.”

Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission biologists rank it among the state’s “best fishing waters” for no less than five species: smallmouth bass, striped bass, yellow perch, walleyes and channel catfish.

“Nice bass have been taken from both reservoirs.”

From panfish to muskies, Shamineau really does have something to offer every angler. It’s considered a destination lake in the area, and its reputation as a consistent fish producer is no secret.

Still, Carlyle Lake’s reputation is that of being a bass lake.

Fox has muskies, walleyes, largemouth bass, and hefty northern pike. Fox maintains a good stock of bluegills, black crappies and yellow perch.

While being an excellent multi-species fishery might be its calling card, this 1,451-acre lake near Longville also gives up plenty of trophy-caliber fish.

Black crappie was the top game fish by number found in the DNR survey.

Over the years, Pymatuning has produced more Fish Ohio yellow perch and walleyes than any other inland lake in the state, the Division of Wildlife has reported.
