A month after the comment period closed for a series of proposed hunting regulations designed to entice hunters to harvest more antlerless deer, the package has been fully adopted by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and will be in place for the fall hunting seasons.
This includes the much-debated earn-a-second buck program, which will require hunters to harvest an antlerless deer before they can obtain a second buck tag.
