Sturgeon Bay Area

Perch fishing out of Potawatomi State Park continues to be slow. The few perch that were being caught were not of desirable size. Perch were being caught in varying depths with no real pattern present.

Finger Lakes/Central NY

Canandaigua Lake: No new report. Waneta/Lamoka lakes: Ice anglers were getting a few yellow perch on Waneta. Seneca Lake: Northern pike fishing continues to be good, with fish hitting pretty much everything from live bait

The bluegills have been hitting pretty well, and the walleyes are biting a little better than might be expected for this time of year. Big Clam produced some walleyes last week. Bluegills started picking up

Mauch Chunk Lake (Carbon County) – This Pocono-area fishery had fishable ice just after New Year’s, and conditions were improving, although action was marginal. Bass and pickerel were active but panfish were harder to catch.
