Taking a silent approach to hunting spring turkeys when birds refuse to gobble

Last spring I heard very little gobbling. Unless it was raining, I hunted every day during the spring turkey season and on most days I did not hear a turkey gobble either on the roost or while they were on the ground. It was getting discouraging and caused me to change tactics.

April means the onset of raptor migration in New York

For those of us who aren’t trout fishing or scouting turkeys, April means the onset of raptor migration here in New York state. Shad restoration efforts in the Susquehanna River continue

As part of an effort to restore American shad in New York, DEC Fisheries staff, in collaboration with the PA Fish and Boat Commission, recently stocked 322,000 American shad fry into the Susquehanna River in Endicott.
As in previous stockings, fish were marked so if they are recaptured, DEC staff will be able to obtain useful information on fish growth, movement, and stocking success.

I liked it so much that I bought one for my son when he turned 16.
