Iowa DNR offering workshop that will teach individuals to hunt, process, and cook their deer

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is offering a six-month workshop to teach skills needed to hunt, field dress and cook white-tailed deer to individuals who have little to no archery hunting experience.
Experienced instructors will lead the workshop which includes hunting opportunities throughout Iowa’s archery season.

Maryland pursuing actions to control invasive catfish in Chesapeake Bay watershed

Last month, the U.S. Department of Commerce notified Maryland Gov. Wes Moore that it has declined Maryland’s request for a federal commercial fisheries disaster declaration that was sought to help address the economic and ecological damage caused by the spread of invasive catfish and snakeheads in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

Iowa DNR postpones trout stockings in Mason City and Sioux City

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is postponing the trout stockings scheduled for this Saturday, Jan. 13 at Blue Pit, Mason City, and Bacon Creek Lake, Sioux City, due to unsafe ice conditions.
The stockings will be completed after the ice thickens. A press release will announce when the stockings have been completed.
