As is usually the case, fishing for walleyes in Ohio’s Sandusky and Maumee rivers during the spawning run is a day-by-day affair with fish responding to changing water temperatures and depth fluctuations in a somewhat predictable manner.
During cold snaps when the water temperature dips, especially overnight, fishing gets tougher, but then improves later in the day.
