There’s a trend toward personalization among buyers of off-road vehicles, especially for those who are purchasing high-end UTVs.

Many are looking for special accessories to enhance the vehicle’s performance, aesthetic appeal, or comfort, and the industry is embracing customization in ways that go beyond traditional options.

Manufacturers, however, have not abandoned buyers whose needs and budget are more modest. While side-by-sides dominate the market, there are situations, like working in tight spaces, where a traditional quad is the more suitable machine.

Here’s a preview of some of the machines you’ll find at dealers later this summer and fall.

POLARIS

The company that leads the power sports industry in sales continues to innovate with value in all segments of the market.

The dump box can haul up to 300 pounds, and the machine has a 1,500-pound towing capacity.

Polaris is celebrating 40 years of innovation and legacy with the first American Engineered ATVs. The Sportsman 570 Premium 40th Anniversary Edition is a limited time release, with premium paint and badging, and exclusive 1990s-inspired graphics that pay homage to its rich heritage. It also features a 9.5-inch rear suspension travel and 11.5-inch of ground clearance.

The 2026 Polaris lineup also includes a full line of RANGER, RZR, Polaris XPEDITION, GENERAL, Sportsman, and youth models.

ARCTIC CAT

Long a fixture in the power sports industry going back to the very early days (1962) of the snowmobile manufacturing, Arctic Cat is in the process of regrouping under new ownership. Arctic Cat’s former CEO, Brad Darling, and current ARGO president, and a group of investors have purchased the company from Textron, which effectively shut down the company’s production last fall. Textron bought Arctic Cat in 2017.

“We seek to continue Arctic Cat’s investment in its brand, products, people and dealers, extending its positive momentum. As a permanent fixture of Thief River Falls, Minn., for over 63 years, this iconic brand has benefited from the passion of not only the employees but also the entire community. We are now able to wipe away any uncertainty and are looking ahead with great excitement,” Darling said. “Snowmobiles, ATVs and side-by-sides should be in production later this year.”
