Lake Erie water levels to remain above average

Lake Erie’s record water levels that we saw in 2019 and 2020 will remain as the highest to date in the months of February through September.
The record will also remain from the previous high marks set in October through December 1986 and in January 1987. As many will recall, most of Lake Erie’s water comes from the Upper Great Lakes with Lake Superior setting the tone for how much volume reaches the rest of the system based upon annual precipitation, including snowmelt, from its surrounding landscape.
