Here’s what to do if you wound a turkey this season

Bad shots happen, whether you carry a 12 gauge or a bow into the turkey woods during the spring season. How you proceed after a bad shot is what matters most. Wait for at least a couple of hours, go slowly when you begin your search, glass often, and remember that wounded toms will often crawl into the brush and lie flat to keep hidden. Turkeys are tough. While a well-placed shot with a bow or a shotgun can easily bring down the baddest longbeard on the block, that’s not always a guarantee.
