R3 initiatives drive New York’s updated pheasant plan

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation recently released a 2026-2035 Strategic Plan for Pheasant Stocking, which intends to shift the focus on pheasant hunting in New York to R3 initiatives.
The plan, DEC says, will embrace R3 principals and aim to enhance hunter recruitment, retention, and reactivation. A press release said the plan updates and replaces the 2010–2020 Management Plan for Ringnecked Pheasants in New York State and that it advances three main goals.
