Pennsylvania inches closer to building wildlife corridors

After years of study and discussion, Pennsylvania appears to be moving closer to developing a statewide wildlife corridors plan aimed at connecting fragmented habitats and reducing animal-vehicle collisions.
Corridors that promote the safe passage of fish, birds, reptiles and mammals to breeding and foraging areas while keeping motorists safe are a hot topic among conservationists, globally.

Nancy’s Vision Youth Turkey Hunt was created in 2021 to honor Wallis’ late wife, Nancy Rucker-Wallis, who passed away unexpectedly in 2020. Organizing the youth hunt was a way for Wallis to deal with the loss and also introduce kids to the sport he loves.

Minnesota lawmakers address AI concern over fraudulent DNR licenses

Minnesota lawmakers are advancing legislation to address fraudulent hunting, fishing, and recreational licenses, a trend that DNR Enforcement says has increased via the use of artificial intelligence.
HF4192, authored by Rep. Dave Pinto, DFL-St. Paul, and its Senate companion SF4206, authored by Sen. Judy Seeberger, DFL-Lakeland, would strengthen enforcement tools and penalties. Lt. Col. Robert Gorecki, assistant DNR director of enforcement, said current law limits how officers can respond directly to fraudulent documents.
