State College, Pa. — A hunter who did not return to a camp late in Pennsylvania’s deer season was found dead Saturday evening Dec. 13, the Centre County coroner’s office reported.
It was the second search for a missing hunter in Centre County over the final few days of the deer season, with a search for a hunter in Penns Valley ending the morning of Saturday, Dec. 13 when the body was found in a wooded area on private property.
There are no indications of foul play in either case, the coroner’s office said.

The Howard Township Fire Department, Citizens Hook & Ladder of Milesburg, and the Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview were involved in the search, that also included hunters.
The search for the missing hunter in Gregg Township started Friday evening in below-freezing temperatures. That hunter — whose identity also has not been released — likely died of natural causes, the coroner’s office said. The final cause of death is pending further examinations and testing.
The identities of the deceased hunters were not available at this issue’s deadline.
