More Sunday hunting may be in store in Pennsylvania

Notable possibilities when it comes to additional Sundays include ending the two-week firearms deer season on a Sunday, rather than a Saturday, which has long been the case. (Stock photo)

Hunters can expect additional Sundays to be added to the 2026-27 seasons when the Pennsylvania Game Commission board meets on Jan. 30-31.
Currently, an additional 13 Sundays were added via an executive order last fall. Those Sundays concluded on Dec. 7 during the firearms deer season, but there appears to be support to carry it further in 2026.
