The opening weekend of New York’s Southern Zone rifle season was a comfortable one for hunters in the southern tier, with daytime temperatures both Saturday and Sunday hovering in the 50s, and even approaching 60 degrees in parts of the state.
That likely kept hunters in the field, resulting in a number of success stories, including several sent to New York Outdoor News.
